What sucks Whit is that we can honestly say that Norv would have 5 wins at this point. If you credit McCoy for Rivers' improvement, OK... I don't think you do though. McCoy's turtling cost us at least the Wash game and probably the TN too
Agreed Ross, when McCoy accepted the penalty after the runningback for Cinn was dragged down for a 3 yard loss, even as a player who made that play, and I think it was Te'o, I would have been pissed. Let's not mince words. McCoy has had his head up his ass a lot this season. And as usual the Chargers players look to comfortable after making mistakes. McCoy better not show signs of Norv like softness or he will soon be buried in someone's booth just like Norv.
True, but I can't get over the fact that McCoy continues to be gutless and stupid. If Rivers hadn't hit Tutu, we could have chalked up last week as another game he blew with conservatism or bad in game decisions. He took that penalty just as he did in the Raiders game and the opposition converted on our shit secondary.
Sorry you had to see it, Jeff. McCoy is really annoying me. I don't necessarily think two punts within the 40 was the problem all in itself. But playing to tie at the half, accepting that penalty and getting run over all day...
Sad that the sense was the game didn't matter. It should have.
Well I've just returned from the Q, where Dean Spanos has a firm grip on the $79 I just wasted to watch his team. Yes I broke my own vow not to attend a home game this season, but now that my curiosity has been satisfied I don't need to bother with it anymore this season. On a day when the defense actually played a decent game (except for those instances when they HAD to have a stop with the game on the line), the offense laid a great big fucking egg. The team was as listless as the crowd, as if they had been out in the lot before the game partying up. I've come to the conclusion that by and large Charger fans just don't give a crap about the outcome, that's it's just a few who get upset enough to actually express their displeasure at sites like this. Same with the ownership (but they don't express their displeasure because they got our money). It was a beautiful day and everyone had a great time in the lot and the sense was that the game didn't matter too much. But it's alright Chargers at least you tried (and failed again), and that winning thing is overrated anyway, just ask Spanos. Enjoy your offseason boys.
